About the Author


Takesha Powell, a New York City native is the former Managing Editor of Black Elegance and Belle magazines as well as former Editor-in-Chief of Jive / Intimacy magazines. Ms Powell has two self-published books: an anthology of poetry entitled Tender Headed: Poems For Nappy Thoughts I Left Uncombed, and a novel, The Goode Sisters. Her next work, The Sisterhood Commandments: A Novella is due for release August 2005. She resides both in New York and New Jersey with her daughter.
